The Promise of Spring

Posted on March 30th, 2021 by Paul Hill

The last 12 months have been a challenging time for all of us. But as spring rolls around this year, there’s hope in the air again. Travel restrictions across the country have been easing as vaccines have become more and more available.

As March comes to a close, Fresno county has finally graduated to Tier 2 of our COVID relief plan. That means restaurants are free to open for indoor dining at a limited capacity. Likewise, gyms and fitness centers can open their doors once again. And a quick look at the data on the county’s website linked above suggests that we’ll find ourselves in Tiers 3 and 4 in no time.

While local businesses begin inviting customers inside for the first time in months, travelers are beginning to stir as well. The Fresno Yosemite International Airport’s “Ready to Move You Forward” campaign details its plans to bring more people in and out of local airspace.

New flights to Los Angeles and Mexico City have already hit the skies for multiple airlines. And flights to Chicago, Vegas, Denver, and Seattle are already being booked for the coming months. These new flights coincide with improved safety protocols, including enhanced cleaning practices, plexiglass protections, and one-way foot traffic in the airport.

Here at Piccadilly Inn Airport, we couldn’t be happier to see things moving again. As the closest hotel to the Fresno Airport, we get a front-row seat to all of the changes being made. We hear from guests every day about the exemplary safety measures put in place at the airport and are overjoyed to see that they’re paying off.

If you’re coming through the Fresno area, stop in and stay with us for a night. Or just pop in for a meal from one of our three onsite restaurants and check out our Fresno City Guide for ideas of fun things to do around town.
