How to Stay Safe While Traveling during COVID-19

Posted on April 2nd, 2021 by Paul Hill

As more people are getting vaccinated and states move into more relaxed phases, you might start to plan more trips. Planning your visit to Piccadilly Inn Airport, a top Airport Hotel in Fresno, California, is exciting but it’s always smart to engage in hygienic practices as you make your way through the airport.

Pick a Good Mask

There are hundreds of different masks out there to choose from these days. Make sure you wear your mask the entire time you travel from, from the door of your house to your final destination. Picking a comfortable and effective mask will make it easier to wear for hours at a time. You can pick out a cotton one with a cute pattern, an N-95 to stick with the basic and secure masks, a surgical mask, or even double up on a mask and face shield. Some masks even come with adjustable ear loops to make it even more comfortable to wear. Do your research and try out different styles to find one that fits comfortably.

Focus on Your Hands

It’s extremely easy to transfer germs from our hands to our faces, especially with how many people pass through an airport each day. Try to avoid touching any other things or spaces as much as possible, and carry hand sanitizer with you in case you do. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, it’s best to use a sanitizer that has at least 60% alcohol. Remember to also wash your hands as much as you can with soap and warm water, especially after you eat or interact with others. Research shows that glove-wearing is not as effective or sanitary as remaining gloveless and simply making sure to wash your hands often.

Keep Your Distance

As per CDC guidelines, it’s vital to still stand at least 6 feet away from others at all times. Even with masks and vaccinations, social distancing should still be in effect and can prevent the spread of the virus. Make sure you’re not standing too close to anyone in line or while sitting at your gate or at a restaurant.

Choose the Right Hotel

Picking a hotel that will accommodate your needs and help you stay safe during the pandemic is key. If you are looking for a venue in Fresno that offers on-site amenities such as laundry, dining and a fitness center, Piccadilly Inn is your one-stop destination. This will let you reduce the need to travel around to different locations, hence keeping you safer.
